Interview with Ms. Mangini and Ms. Creedon
By: Arianna Wu
Ms. Mangini and Ms. Creedon have recently facilitated an activity with a few lucky kids! During the activity, they taught the kids how to cook a couple of delicious recipes. Overall, they had a lot of fun and can't wait to do it again. Below is an interview with them about the activity.
1. Why did you decide to do a cooking activity with the kids?
Ms. Mangini: Cooking is one of my favorite hobbies. I love being able to talk and work at the same time. It’s fun how everybody can have the same directions but each have unique food.
Ms. Creedon: Ms. Mangini and I both like to cook. So we thought it would be fun to do it with the kids.
2. Did you enjoy the activity? If so, would you want to do it again next year? Is there anything different you would do next year?
Ms. Mangini: I loved doing it and would like to do it again next year. I might change up the menu a bit for next year.
Ms. Creedon: I had a good time, and I would love to do it again. It was fun to be with the kids instead of the computers. : ) The only problem was the mess afterward on the floor. So maybe next time we can figure how to do it without all the mess on the floor.
3. Do you like to cook/bake in your free time too?
Ms. Mangini: Yes, I do. It’s my creative expression, and it feeds the family.
Ms. Creedon: I do.
4. What did you guys make for the activity?
Ms. Mangini: We made guacamole and chips, pizza from scratch, and ice cream cone cupcakes
5. How many kids were there?
Ms. Mangini: 6 kids
6. If you could do another activity with the kids besides cooking, what would you want to do?
Ms. Creedon: Maybe go to the Academy of Sciences. I like the aquarium there.
